Can I Stop Clarithromycin After 6 Days?
Hi, is it ok to stop clarithromycin after 6 days of taking it? twice a day 500mg , and nothing improved, I was told to take it for 10 days.

Answered on 14th Oct '24
If you have been on clarithromycin for six days and still do not feel any better, it is essential to continue your treatment plan. Typically, bacterial infections require the use of an entire course of antibiotics to eliminate the germs. Early stopping can result in the infection coming back stronger. Give it some more time and keep taking the medication as prescribed to help your body heal. If you're still not seeing any improvements after the full 10 days, it might be a good idea to talk to your dermatologist to discuss the next steps.

Excessive hair loss, hormonal tests advice needed , no other problem in body
Female | 36
Excessive hair loss can often be linked to hormonal imbalances, even if there are no other noticeable problems in the body. It's important to get your thyroid levels, estrogen, and androgen hormones checked. I advise you to consult an endocrinologist, to diagnose and treat hormonal issues that might be causing your hair loss.

I am a 19 year old female. Within the past 6-10 months I’ve noticed my body hair getting darker, (not thicker,) in certain areas. I was wondering if this was normal and, if so what is the cause(s)? I do not think i have pcos, but I’m not sure if i should be concerned. Thank you!
Female | 19
The darkening of body hair in certain parts due to hormonal fluctuations does not mean something is wrong. This can be due to genetic and hormonal factors as well as environmental and behavioral aspects. Nevertheless, if along with dark hair you also have other symptoms like not having periods over long periods or having excessive hair growth, it is helpful to seek assistance from a dermatologist and do some tests for any irregularities.

I am an 18 year old iam female I got pimples on right and left side of face up to jaw line why it is? Can I send you picture
Female | 18
You’re having breakouts on both sides of your face down to your jawline. This is called acne, and it’s very common for people your age. If a person gets acne, it is because their hair follicles are plugged with oil and dead skin cells. When a person reaches puberty, their body releases hormones that can cause this to happen. To improve your condition, you can wash your face with a mild soap and try not to touch it too often. If it bothers you a lot, you should go see a dermatologist who might suggest using some ointments or drugs that are put on the skin (topical).

Hi , I had a blind comedones under my face skin , and it is for 2 years now and its not inflammed it's just like a black head but without head and the doctor tried more than 2 times to remove them by extraction but with no result (they were deep) so we had to do them by laser to open up a hole and extract them but the inside were solid so after the session there were holes and one of them is big. My question is are they leaving scars ? I will leave a picture after 3 weeks from the procedure …. My doctor is saying that it will take time to heal ? I’m afraid they will leave a permanent scars
Female | 27
It’s usual to have scars after a surgical process but differing factors play a role in the level of damage and recovery period. As far as laser treatment is concerned, scarring may occur, but it’s usually minimal and will go away with time. I suggest you visit the dermatologist instead as they can give you better advice on post-treatment care and ensure that you heal properly.

I am 33 years old men.i working as a driver .I have acne on buttocks for several years. Especially after driven vehicle I feel so hard . What can I do now..? Is there any location
Male | 33
A breakout on your bum can arise due to sweat, friction, or clogging pores with bacteria. To minimize acne, wear loose-fitting clothes, shower after driving, and use a mild facial cleanser. As other options, develop a habit of consulting with the pharma about the medications selected. It may help you reduce the symptoms.

I am 23 year old male, i have tinea versicolor from years. Till now I haven't taken any oral medical or any cream. How to cure it? Its from my childhood days. Location of tinea: only back( upper back left side) WHITE PATCHES Area: one palm size. It neither increases nor decreases. No other symptoms. Please guide
Male | 23
Tinea versicolor can be treated with antifungal creams. Please apply it to the affected area twice a day for 2 weeks. If you don't see any improvement, please try oral antifungal. Also, keep the area dry and clean and avoid wearing tight clothes as this can make the affected area sweaty. If the problem does not go away still, please consult a doctor for the same.

which doctors need to consult if having redness on front skin or can say Balanites case, Dermatologist/Urologist/Analogist/Sexologist
Male | 60
If you see redness in the front skin area then it might be a condition called balanitis. Symptoms of balanitis are the redness, swelling, and discomfort. Some of the reasons may be: using poor hygiene, infections, or skin conditions. Keeping the area clean, avoiding skin irritants including strong soaps, and wearing comfortable clothes can all help. If the symptoms do not go away or worsen, see a urologist or a dermatologist for the correct treatment.

It seems like you’ve got post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation after popping your zits. These can result in dark marks on your face. To fade them away, consider trying out products that contain vitamin C, niacinamide, or kojic acid as ingredients. Sun protection is key since UV rays can worsen the appearance of these spots. Also, remember not to irritate your skin further to avoid more dark spots.

Male | 17
If the cut is not all better, it is important to look for signs of infection. Look for red skin, swelling, warmth, or pus near the bite spot. If you see any of those things, you should go to the doctor to stop problems. Remember to keep the area clean and put a bandage on it until a doctor can check it out.

Hey I'm 18 years old and I'm suffering from skin allergies from 2-3 months. red rashes appears on skin with bumpy rounds. due to this itching happens on the body and it irritates me. Kindly help me to cure from this allergy.
Female | 18
You might be afflicted with a skin condition known as hives. Hives are red, raised bumps on the skin that can be itchy and disturbing. They are often the result of a long list of contributors, among them are allergies, stress, and infections. One way to relieve the itching and irritation is by taking antihistamines that are available over the counter and applying soothing lotions. If the problem still exists, you should see a dermatologist for further advice and treatment.

Female | 24
Pimples are irritating bumps. They develop when pores clogged with oil and dead cells. Redness, swelling, and discomfort occur. But solutions exist to aid complexion woes. Cleanse skin with mild soap regularly. Limit facial contact. Eat nutritious foods. Try salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide products for blemish reduction. Be patient - improvement takes time. Consult a dermatologist if uncertain.

Which treatment is best for vitiligo in children below 5 years, homeopathy, ayurveda, or allopathy? What treatment is given to kids for focal vitiligo above lips?
Male | 3
The best treatment for vitiligo in children below 5 years old would depend on the severity of the condition. Generally, topical corticosteroids are the most commonly used treatment for vitiligo in children, and they are used in combination with other treatments like phototherapy, topical calcineurin inhibitors, and systemic immunomodulators. For focal vitiligo above the lips, the treatment of choice is usually topical corticosteroids. Additionally, topical immunomodulators and phototherapy can be used in combination with topical corticosteroids to improve the effectiveness of the treatment. Homeopathy, ayurveda, and other alternative treatments can be used in conjunction with conventional treatments, but should be discussed with a doctor before starting.

The lime powder gave you a red, painful mark. But don't worry, you can treat it. Wash the burn lightly with cool water. Then use an ointment with aloe vera or honey. These natural things help soothe pain and heal skin faster. Keep the area clean and covered until it gets better. if the issues persist, you can visit a dermatologist.
