How to manage amoxicillin-induced diarrhea with ear infection?

Patient's Query

Hi my name is Rachael and I went to the doctor last Thursday and they said that I have an ear infection I'm on amoxicillin for the antibiotic and the amoxicillin is giving me really bad diarrhea I stopped taking it and called the doctor and they said to keep taking the antibiotic with the diarrhea pills what do you recommend for me to do

Answered by Dr. Samrat Jankar

It’s understandable to be concerned about the side effects of your medication. Antibiotics like amoxicillin can sometimes lead to gastrointestinal issues, including diarrhea. It’s important to continue the antibiotic as prescribed, as it helps clear the infection. Taking probiotic supplements or consuming yogurt with live cultures may help restore your gut health. Make sure to stay hydrated and consider discussing any persistent symptoms with a gastroenterologist. They can provide further recommendations or adjust your treatment if necessary.

I got ulcers on chewing pan masala

Male | 22

It looks as if you are feeling uncomfortable because of an inflammation of your mouth, which may be due to sores, pain, or sensitivity. The most common of these are a result of the consumption of substances like chewing tobacco. The best thing to do is to clean your teeth using a good dental floss, do not use spicy or acidic foods.

I m suffering from fissure in anus

Male | 40

You may have a fissure in your anus which could hurt a lot and make you uncomfortable. A fissure is like a tiny cut on the skin around your bottom. It is caused by passing hard stool, running stomach, or diseases like Crohn`s disease. Symptoms may include pain when passing stool and sometimes even bleeding. To alleviate these symptoms, try taking more fiber in your diet, drinking enough water daily, and applying creams to soothe the affected area.
