I am an 18 year old female who had Unprotected sex on the 13th of October and took the morning after pill (Levonorgestrel) on on 14th of October. My last period was on the 17th of September until the 23rd of September I fear I might get pregnant.

The birth control pill is best if taken within three days of having unprotected sexual intercourse. The mechanism of action is to prevent the ovary from releasing an egg. Be mindful, though, the morning-after pill is not 100% effective. To be safe, you should look out for the signs like missed periods, nausea, or breast tenderness. If you get any of these symptoms, it's best to do a pregnancy test.

My mother have been living with hiv for the past 13 years so she has started to develop pain in the position of her 2 breast.what could exactly be the cause of this
Male | 59
Pain in the breasts can have many causes, particularly in someone who has HIV. For example, it might be because of an infection hormonal changes, or inflammation. Your mother must go to her doctor as soon as possible so they can find out what is causing it exactly. To help deal with the pain and underlying problems she may need some drugs, changes in the way she lives, or further tests.

People also ask Is it normal for milk to come out of breast when not pregnant?
Female | 25
No it is not normal. This is called galactorrhea and is due to a variety of causes such as hormonal imbalances, side effects of medications or other specific medical conditions. It is recommended to visit a endocrinologist to get the correct treatment and diagnosis.

Thank you for the answer , but I'm still bleeding with blood clot with mild pain , is this normal for 9 weeks pregnant ( iud removed)
Female | 39
I would like you to make an appointment to see a gynecologist as soon as you can. Egg shedding with clots and cramps already at the 9th week of pregnancy, after having the IUD removed, seems not the right thing to happen. It is necessary to do a full range of tests to exclude any of the possible complications.

Hi I have recently facing infection on my vagina. It comes every month before periods. I have burning sensation and itching whenever it contacted with water. My most concern is, I recently noticed that my vaginal opening is getting bigger or wider. This concerns me a lot. I do have a partner but we only have sex once a year. Apart from that, I'm not doing any kind of sexual activities. Please give me remedy and reason for this.
Female | 27
What might fit in the picture is yeast infection, which is one of the most common among women. The burning and itching are the two primary common symptoms. The feeling of your vaginal opening getting bigger or wider may be due to swelling from the infection. Antifungal creams or suppositories that you can get over the counter could be tried for this purpose. Don't forget to keep the region clean and dry, and wear cotton underwear to promote the healing process.

The vagina is a muscular canal that can dilate and contract. It opens up during arousal for penetration by a penis, dildo, or fingers. If you have any worries about your vaginal health, visit a gynecologist.

I had what can be classified as unprotected sex on 27th August (this is because I was experiencing diarrhea which reduced my regular combined pill efficiency and protection). Partner pulled out twice, we shower in between and clean. I took emergency contraception within 24 hours (brand: andalan postpil) and had one last diarrhea nearly 3 hours later (a bit less I think) after taking the pill. Would the emergency contraception be effective (I also have BMI of 30.5) or do I need to take another emergency pill?
Female | 22
Taking the emergency contraception pill is a very effective way of preventing pregnancy. Apart from that, you took the emergency pill which was the right move, and you experienced diarrhea, which can lower the effectiveness of the pill. Pay attention to any unusual symptoms and if you are worried, it is always better to consult a gynecologist.

Riya why blighted ovum pregnancy twice very tensed what to do to cure it
Female | 35
A blighted ovum occurs when a fertilized egg fails to develop as it should. You're not at fault, and this doesn't mean you can't have a healthy pregnancy later on. To potentially prevent a recurrence, it may help to discuss any underlying conditions or lifestyle factors with your gynecologist.

I notice a painful lump between my anus and vagina. I can feel it through my anus and it hurts when I sit and stand. Also have frequent bowel movements for months and haemorrhoids. The pain became severe yesterday
Female | 18
A painful cyst contained between the anus and vaginal opening that brings discomfort should be treated by a medical specialist. This may point at an abscess or infection and should be immediately attended to by a gynecologist or colorectal surgeon. Moreover, a doctor should also be consulted and the causes for regular stool or hemorrhoids investigated.

Some people may experience changes in their periods after stopping birth control. Their cycles may become irregular. This happens as their bodies adjust to hormone changes. Irregular bleeding, spotting, or changes in flow could occur. To help regulate periods, it's beneficial to exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet. If concerned, or if symptoms persist, it's wise to consult a gynecologist for personalized advice.

I have some period like symptoms. When I insert my finger inside is not but also few times it has brown liquid with few brown mucus type particle. Also I took three pregnancy test. Is it normal to have one dark line but one really really really faint pink line in three of them? I had my periods two months ago, two times. Yes I m sexually active. Also I have dry vagina and all symptoms of periods but no period.
Female | 21
Your irregular periods could be the reason for the brown discharge with mucus. A faint line on a pregnancy test might suggest early pregnancy, but it's important to consult a doctor for confirmation. Other factors like hormonal imbalances or stress can also cause a dry vagina and missed periods. Always see a gynecologist for proper evaluation and treatment.

Can lidocaine be used to numb burning in bacterial vaginosis
Female | 26
Bacterial vaginosis occurs when vaginal bacteria is imbalanced. Lidocaine numbing provides temporary relief, but isn't treatment. Proper diagnosis and medication from a doctor prevents complications. See a gynecologist for bacterial vaginosis - simple numbing won't cure the infection.

28 year old female. Had mifepristone on Wednesday night. Next day had bleeding with clots . Took 4 misoprostol orally . No bleeding. There is little bleeding but seems like it’s from mifepristone
Female | 28
The bleeding as well as clots you had is quite normal when using these drugs for a medical termination. There are times when the bleeding starts to slow down but that doesn't mean it's not effective. Take it easy and keep in touch with your gynecologist. Also, don't forget to look after yourself and have plenty of rest.
