Why is my left middle back pain now chronic?
I have been experiencing a persistent back pain in the middle section at the left side only. I used to feel it temporarily now it is chronic. No pain can be felt on the surface, but pain is still felt internally. What is wrong with me?

This kind of hurt usually means that there is a damaged muscle or even possibly a slipped disc. These can cause long-term problems with hurting all the time. The main things you can do to help yourself are to rest a lot, put something cold or warm on it, and maybe try easy exercises to make your muscles stronger in that area behind you. If you don’t feel better after doing these things for some days then go and see an orthopedist.

Hi There, I recently had a full blood count test and a kidney function test to check for any abnormalities, and the results were normal. However, lately, my hands have been feeling full and it’s difficult to open and close them, sometimes causing pain. They do swell slightly, particularly in the morning after I wake up. At night, I can feel blood flowing to my hands, and I experience the same sensation during the day at work.
Female | 32
This can happen if there is pressure on the nerves in your wrist. Repetitive hand movements or certain health conditions are the main culprits. You can do it by using a wrist splint, taking breaks, and doing hand exercises. Also, if the symptoms continue, you should consult an orthopedist for further evaluation.

Painful swollen foot in 85 y old lady since 20 days after possible eversion injury Treated conservatively with walking air cast but little improvement Your kind opinion
Female | 85
An outward roll of the ankle may cause immediate pain and swelling, so an eversion injury is likely. There could be mild fractures or other problems missed by the initial examination or X-rays. I would advise you to get it checked again, if not much progress has been made in the next 3 weeks even while using an air cast for support.

I have needles in my back
Female | 23
You may feel a “pins and needles” sensation in your back when a nerve is compressed in the neck, shoulders, or upper back. Common causes include poor posture, muscle strain, and pinched nerves. To help, try gentle stretching, maintain good posture, and apply a warm or cold pack. If the discomfort persists, consider consulting an orthopedist.

I am having left hand pain whiling pushing heavy like benchpress or doing pushups or dips , i have been using cold compress but it's not working
Male | 18
Experiencing left hand pain during heavy exercises like bench pressing, push ups, or dips could be due to muscle strain, nerve compression, tendonitis, joint issues, or even heart related concerns. It's important to consult a healthcare professional like an orthopedist for proper diagnosis and treatment.

I fell while riding a bike on my elbow and ever since i have been facing pain while pronation and supranation of my wrists also when i apply preasure to the inner part of the bone in the elbow i feel immense pain
Male | 19
Pain when you twist your wrist or press the inside of your elbow may be a sign of medial epicondylitis, also known as golfer's elbow. This condition occurs when the tendon becomes swollen and irritated. To heal, you can rest your arm, apply an ice pack, and take over-the-counter medications. It's important to avoid actions that cause the pain, and if there is no improvement, it's better to visit an orthopedist for additional assessment and treatment.

iam 39 years old I have an lateral meniscus horizontal tear surgery in March 15 2024 and I have two times synovitis problem with in 6 months so I want to know the reason why iam facing synovitis
Male | 39
You have encountered synovitis after your meniscus surgery. Synovitis is the condition where the lining of the joint gets swollen and hurtful. Surgery can cause this because of inflammation or irritation of the joint. Synovitis can be managed with rest, ice, and anti-inflammatory medications which are the best methods. If the issue does not go away, visit your orthopedic specialist for more examination and treatment alternatives.

Hello doctor I'm having backache since 2 month I'm also taking precautions and painkiller but no improvement.... kindly see what happens to
Female | Awantika
Back pain can be a lot of reasons such as muscle strain or even a slipped disc. In some cases, painkillers may not be enough to get you on the right track. It is the first step in getting the proper treatment, so I recommend getting the help of an orthopedist who can guide you with exercises or physical therapy to make your back muscles stronger and soothe the pain.

I’m 50 yrs old and have been suffering with planters fasciitis for years. It started after working at Home Depot. I seen an orthopedic back in 2002 ish, got an injection and was fine. I then left HD and came back yrs later. Now it’s back and I believe I’m also dealing with Achilles tendonitis. My mother who drove a bus for 30 yrs has also dealt with this for a very long time. She can barely walk and I’ve started limping. I don’t want this to slow me down but the doctors here in Wichita Falls are not much help and my mother hasn’t been able to get any relief in California or now in Arizona. My question is is there anything we can do. I have 6 kids, 3 of which are still in school. I can’t just slow down. And I hate seeing how miserably mother is. We are both taking Duloxitine, which helps sometimes. Besides surgery is there anything we can do?
Female | 50
Plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis can be quite bothersome, but there are several ways to ease the pain. Try stretching exercises for your calves and feet, wear supportive shoes, use orthotic inserts, apply ice to reduce inflammation, and take over-the-counter pain relievers. It's also important to avoid activities that make the pain worse.

Why is it paining near left palmar fascia
Female | 20
If your left palm hurts, it could be due to overuse, like gripping too hard. This can irritate or injure the tissue in your palm. Rest your hand, apply ice, and do gentle stretches. If the pain doesn't go away, it's best to see an orthopedist for further help.

My father has diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the right femoral head with joint capsulitis and moderate joint effusion and ischemic changes in neck of the right femur. So does he require hip replacement surgery?
Male | 64
YES, HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY IS LIKELY NECESSARY FOR AVASCULAR NECROSIS.. Avascular necrosis is when bone tissue dies due to a lack of blood supply. It can lead to pain and joint damage. Joint effusion is swelling from excess fluid, while joint capsulitis is when the joint capsule is inflamed.. ischemic changes refer to REDUCED BLOOD FLOW.. All of these can make it difficult to move and cause pain.. Surgery may help improve mobility and decrease pain.. YOUR FATHER'S DOCTOR WILL BE ABLE TO ADVISE ON THE BEST TREATMENT PLAN..

Left thumb facture due to accident
Male | 30
Your left thumb is hurt. You feel pain, and swelling, it's bruised, and you can't move it well. A fall or hit caused your thumb to break. Don't use your thumb. Put ice on it to reduce the swelling. See an orthopedist for an X-ray. They'll check how bad the fracture is. The doctor may put a splint or cast on your thumb to help it heal correctly.

I’m 20 year old male. I’m feeling pain in only a single spine while stretching and while bending my neck too much. The pain in the spine that is between the scapula. The pain in not radiating or spreading. It is only on that single spine
Male | 20
It sounds like there might be a sore muscle in your spine between your shoulder blades. It can result from overexertion or bad posture. The symptoms are pain when you stretch or bend your neck. To help, try mild stretching, use a heating pad, and take the prescribed pain relievers. In case the pain remains or the situation gets worse, consult an orthopedist who will examine you further.

Hi I need some advice on having pins removed from my kneecap.
Male | 32
Before having pins removed from your kneecap, consult your orthopedic surgeon to discuss the procedure and timing. Prepare according to their instructions. The removal is usually done under local anesthesia, involving a small incision to remove the pins. Expect some discomfort and swelling post surgery.

It may happen because of excessive strain, trauma, or inflammation. Prioritize alleviating pressure; grant your limbs respite. Cold compresses and delicate massage techniques can help. If you feel persisting symptoms visit a orthopedist.

You are suffering from knee pain due to the fall from a CD a long time ago. It is not unusual for knee injuries to be the cause of pain in later stages. The knee pain can be due to either arthritis or damage to the knee joint. The right way to strengthen your knees is to do exercises and keep your weight in shape so that you do not bother them too much. The chilly game and the painkillers that one can easily buy at the pharmacy are also helpful. If the pain persists, you better visit an orthopedist for a more thorough examination and treatment.
