You may have a hernia. If it’s painful, avoid heavy lifting and see a gastroenterologist. When you strain or lift something heavy, a part of your insides is pushed out through a weak spot in your muscles. This could be the cause of the lump under the skin in your lower abdomen. Surgery might be necessary if the pain is severe.

Sharp pain under rib cage
Male | 35
If you happen to feel a sudden acute pain just under your rib cage it might be quite a stressful condition. It may be because of various reasons. If you have wounded or knocked down that place, that might be the reason it hurts. Sometimes, gas in your stomach might be also the reason you experience this. Visit a doctor to find out the cause and proper treatment.

What could be causing my abdominal pain and burning sensation, with a mild enlargement in size of my liver and spleen? I'm concerned about the possibility of a serious condition like colon cancer. Can you provide any guidance or information?
Male | 19
Mild enlargement of the liver and spleen, without any focal lesions, can have various causes and may not necessarily indicate a serious disease like colon cancer. Conditions like fatty liver disease, viral infections, inflammation, etc. can be associated with the swelling of these organs.
A proper diagnosis can only be made by a healthcare professional like a gastroenterologist after considering your complete medical history.

I have watery diarrhoea after antibiotics from last 3 days and also I’m taking novidat and flagyl but it didn’t work what should I do I’m feeling weakness
Female | 29
This happens because antibiotics disturb good gut bacteria. You took Novidat and Flagyl, but since they did not work, stay hydrated. Eat bland food like rice, bananas, toast. If symptoms persist, contact a gastroenterologist urgently.

Right abdominal pain from 2 days
Male | 2I’m
Two-day-long discomfort on the right belly side may have different sources like digestion problems or tight muscles. One of the symptoms may be feeling tender, bloating, or changing your bowel habits. Using light heat and drinking plenty of fluids can be the two things to try. In addition to this, taking a break from heavy foods could also be the best option. However, whenever you feel too much pain, or fever, or when symptoms are still lingering for too long, it is important to consult a gastroenterologist.

Hi there, I'm currently only 19 years old and have previously had occasional heartburn. However, the past 2 weeks I have noticed i have been getting it more frequently. For example last night my heartburn kept waking me up throughout the night. but right now I'm experiencing heartburn and tingling/pins and needles in my hands
Female | 19
You might have acid reflux causing heartburn and tingling hands. Acid reflux happens when stomach acid goes up your food pipe. That causes a burning feeling, called heartburn. Tingling hands could mean irritated nerves. To help, eat smaller meals, avoid spicy foods, don't lie down after eating. See a gastroenterologist if it doesn't get better.

Gerd derealization eoe I really need help
Male | 17
Acid reflux happens when stomach acid goes up your food pipe and makes your chest burn. Feeling unreal is called derealization where things do not seem real. Throat inflammation is when your food pipe gets swollen and irritated.
To feel better, avoid foods that cause acid reflux like spicy or fried foods. Do things that help you relax like deep breaths or a walk. Talk to a gastroenterologist about medicines that can help.

it started a month ago, at night i felt a burning sensation in my chest for about an hour and then followed by back pain and chest pain in the morning. Few days before that i was having a feeling that i was getting choked at night for 3 consecutive days whenever i tried to sleep. I went to the doctor and he said it is possibly GERD and prescribed me medicines but the medicine didnt help and i had this very intense back apin that got into the shoulders and left arm. Then i went again to the doctor and he made me do ecg but results were normal. So he said maybe symptoms of GERD. But now its been month and i still have a constricting feelingin my chest and a sharp needle like pain below the chestbone that comes and goes along with a back pain.
Male | 21
Stomach acid flowing back into the esophagus might cause your issue. It's called GERD. GERD brings chest pain, back pain, choking sensations. Sometimes needles-like pain under chestbone too. Eat smaller meals for GERD relief. Avoid spicy foods. Raise bed head while sleeping. If it persists, a gastroenterologist's visit is essential. They'll evaluate further and adjust treatment if needed.

I am 18 years old and I have been experiencing off and on vomiting and nausea for the last two years I went to the hospital and I was given amoxillin, esomeprazole, tinidazole, and ondansetron which I took for a week but I feel the symptoms have began and I also feel shortness of breath, back pain and loss of appetite
Female | 18
Nausea, vomiting, and decreased appetite can stem from various causes, including digestive issues or infections. Shortness of breath and back pain are also significant and should not be overlooked. While medications like those you've taken may help, your ongoing symptoms indicate it’s time to follow up with a gastroenterologist for a thorough evaluation. They can determine the underlying causes and suggest appropriate treatments.

Hi, 45f, Caucasian. History family of cancer from father side (prostate) and liver (grandmother) Started developing GI symptoms 2 years ago. Main symptoms are pain/discomfort on the epigastric region, increased burping, nausea and loss of apetite and normal stools intercalated with mushy stools. Did several FBC, stool test for blood and HPylori, and US, all normal apart from uncomplicated gallstones. After being put on PPIs for 2 weeks I felt slightly better but the symptoms kept coming and going. Pushed for another GE appointment and had a Upper endoscopy done that revealed excessive bile in stomach and non working LES. Again was advised PPIs for 3 weeks and that's it. I keep on having on and off symptoms and had had another stool test that came back negative. I'm scared this is a gastric cancer, can you please advise? Thank you!
Female | 45
The symptoms you mentioned—such as pain, burping, nausea, and changes in appetite—can be caused by various conditions like gastritis or GERD. Excess bile in the stomach or a weak LES (lower esophageal sphincter) could be contributing to your discomfort. It's a relief that your tests have ruled out serious conditions like cancer. It’s important to monitor your symptoms and work with your doctor to manage them, possibly with medications like PPIs. Your gastroenterologist will continue to follow up if any issues persist.

Male | 4
You might be experiencing a disfunction of the liver called hepatitis. This condition can make your liver tender and swollen. Fever, cough, and weakness are the other common symptom you suffer from. Hepatitis may arise due to some infections, overconsumption of alcoholic drinks, or even a couple of medications. For the best treatment, make sure to see a gastroenterologist.

My mother is experiencing stomach ache in the previous month at the lower left abdominal portion. The pain is neither too sharp nor too dull. But it happens continuously. Whenever I give the medicine it goes away. Otherwise not any symptoms were noticed. What should I do now?
Female | 58
This kind of pain can be a result of constipation, air in the bowels, or even a muscle strain. You are lucky that the pain is relieved by the medicine, but it is crucial to establish the issue that is causing her pain. Keeping track of her dietary choices and doing activities that might be causing pain is a good idea if you do it like this is important. Instruct her to consume more liquids and fiber-rich foods, while you take care to eliminate any foods which might cause her discomfort. If the pain persists, you should visit a gastroenterologist.

The way you experience these moments of vomiting is programmed by several causes such as stomach infections, food sensitivities, and stress. You can also try eating small, frequent meals throughout the day and staying away from spicy or greasy foods. Besides that, the consumption of a considerable amount of water and staying adequately hydrated is very important. To find the root cause you can also consult a gastroenterologist.

Pain on anus after passing stool every time.
Male | 58
Experiencing discomfort after bowel movements can be uncomfortable but is often due to factors like anal fissures, hemorrhoids, or irritation. These issues may arise from straining, dehydration, or a low-fiber diet. To alleviate symptoms, ensure adequate hydration and increase fiber intake through fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Over-the-counter creams may also offer relief. However, if discomfort persists or worsens, I recommend consulting a gastroenterologist for a thorough evaluation.
