Is Pain at 18 Weeks Normal During Pregnancy?
I’m currently 18 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I’ve been having pains down there for about the last 2 weeks is this normal?

Gynecologist/Obstetrician
Answered on 9th Sept '24
Pain in the lower abdomen during pregnancy can be a common factor during 18 weeks due to the various changes in your body. The main reason could be round ligament pain, which is like a stretching feeling in your belly. This is the fact of the uterus growing. Rest, move slowly, and try a warm bath for relief. But if the pain worsens or other symptoms occur, contact your gynecologist.

Hi doctor, I need few suggestions from you Please guide me My name is swathi age is 29 Currently 37 weeks and 5 days I had recent check ups where doc said like I have high BP and my amniotic fluid is reduced from 14.8 to 11 .after following the tablets and injection.we have another check up where doc advised to take bp tablet for 3 times and also mentioned that my baby heart rate is 171 and Umbilical artery PI is high with fetal tachy cardia . After check up I have temperature of 99 F . So doc advised to take medicine for cold .as I have slight cold from last night .Another visit is after 2 days Could you please suggest me what to do for this like precaution to be taken or what can I do to maintain for good health of my baby
Female | 29
Elevated blood pressure during pregnancy risks complications. Low amniotic fluid requires close observation. Rapid fetal heart rate raises alarm. Fever potentially signals infection. Consistently take blood pressure medication. Hydrate well to promote amniotic fluid production. Rest adequately. Consult your gynecologist promptly for guidance addressing these issues.

My girlfriend is pregnant and she takes a abortion pills but she have 3 days improper period can I give her another abortion pill ??
Male | 18
Taking abortion pills incorrectly might endanger your partner. An irregular period afterward doesn't indicate all is well. Don't throw another pill at it - that risks her safety. Instead, get medical advice. A gynecologist can decipher the cause, be it hormonal or incomplete termination. They'll guide the proper care to safeguard her health.

I am 14 weeks pregnant and I have 14 cm cyst in my ovary- what do you suggest to get surgery
Female | 32
A large ovarian cyst during pregnancy is one of those conditions that most people might wonder how one could cope with. Every woman feels the lack of some or other thing; some women have problems in these areas or have a high level of stress, while others might be puffy or dense but if not, the majority of them are harmless and can be eliminated without medical intervention. Your gynecologist will check your condition by conducting the necessary imaging tests and listening to your complaints.

I am 20 years old and I really want to use tampon and menstrual cup as I heard that it is safe and better option but I'm afraid cuz I have heard that tampon and menstrual cup break hymen. What should I do doctor
Female | 20
Tampons and menstrual cups are both considered safe for use. The concern about the hymen is common, but many individuals who use these products do not experience any issues. The hymen can stretch without causing pain or significant change. If you're feeling unsure, start with a small tampon size or a beginner-friendly cup. Ensure you're relaxed and use plenty of water-based lubricants if needed. If worries persist, consult your gynecologist for personalized advice and reassurance.

I am 44 years old, got periods after 66 days , period was for 4 days. Any possibility to be pregnant?
Female | 44
At 44, experiencing infrequent menstrual cycles can happen due to hormonal changes, stress, or other factors. While pregnancy is possible, especially if you've had unprotected intercourse, it’s essential to consider other causes for your symptoms. Irregular bleeding may also indicate conditions like perimenopause or fibroids. To address your concerns, I recommend taking a home pregnancy test for clarity. Additionally, scheduling an appointment with a gynecologist can help determine the underlying cause and discuss potential solutions tailored to you.

I'm having missed periods. My cycle is irregular. I'm stressed about my exam. It will not go well if it starts somewhere near the date.
Female | 18
There are lots of things that can affect your menstrual cycle, including stress, and hormonal and lifestyle changes. Most symptoms, like irregular periods or missed ones, can be witnessed in the time of extreme stress. The ultimate surrender of your cycle might therefore be promoting relaxation techniques such as breathing, yoga, and a balanced diet, coupled with the guarantee of adequate sleep. For the time being, it is better to wait and see how things go. If your cycle continues to be unusual or becomes enlarged, I would recommend that you visit a gynecologist who can suggest a solution that is appropriate for you and can give you his/her support.
