Why is my right leg bigger than left?
my right leg/thigh/hip is bigger than the left What is wrong with me
Orthopaedic Surgery
Answered on 23rd May '24
If one leg/thigh/hip is bigger than the other, it might be because of a muscle imbalance. This means that one side is stronger than the other. You may develop this condition by constantly using your one leg when walking or doing physical exercises. To solve this problem, ensure workouts that will serve each side equally.

I have neck pain almost past 1 year
Male | 45
The causes might include poor posture, stress, or even slowing down physically. In some cases, it could result from an injury. To help relieve the pain, try light neck exercises, use a supportive pillow, and take regular breaks when using devices. Managing stress with relaxation techniques can also be helpful. If the pain persists, consult an orthopedist for further advice.

For the past 5 days I have severe pain in my neck and hand. Now the neck pain has subsided, but the pain of hand are still severe. The pain is in the veins. No medicine is working. Why is this happening?
Male | 36
The clogged veins in your hand are responsible for the pain which you are feeling. It may be the case if the distance between your collarbone and the first rib is short. For this, you can start with your posture and take it slow with stretching exercises. When the pain persists see an orthopedist for more tests and treatments.

I am a 13 year old boy I am 245 pounds and my back of my hip hurts a lot I don't know why I try getting up and I can't I want to know how to stop the pain.
Male | 13
If you're experiencing hip pain, a common cause between ages 10 and 20 is slipped capital femoral epiphysis, where the thigh bone affects the growth plate near the hip joint. This can cause pain in the hip, thigh, or knee. To relieve the pain, rest, avoid activities that worsen it, apply ice, and take over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen as advised by an orthopedist.

I do roofing for work. Handle nail guns with nails held together by little brass wire. When you shoot a nail with our nailguns...some brass is always still attached to the nail (about 3 mm) and today I accidentally shot myself on top of my thigh and when I pulled the nail out, no wire came with it. The wound is now healed over (it's been about 10 hours since sending this inquiry) So how dire is it for me to get it professionally removed? Can I just deal with it in there forever? (Pain is 0) Will it poison me over time like lead?
Male | 22
The small piece of brass left in your thigh probably won’t cause any issues. Since the wound is stable and you don't feel any discomfort, you can leave it as it is. Brass is not as toxic as lead, so there's no need to worry about poisoning. Just watch for any redness, swelling, or pain around the area. If you notice anything unusual, it's a good idea to consult an orthopedist.

Knee pain mild reduction in tibio-femoral joint space
Female | 50
Near the knee area, the space between the thigh bone and the shin bone can sometimes become slightly less due to various factors. This can happen because of an injury, arthritis, or natural wear and tear. Symptoms may include pain, stiffness, and restricted mobility. For recovery, rest, ice, simple exercises, and sometimes medication can help. It is important to visit an orthopedist for a proper examination and treatment plan.

I have been suffering from stiff elbow post injury.. no fracture but ligament tear. I have been advised physiotherapy and have been undergoing it since 4months. But no improvement. Should I consult a neurologist for this?? I have consulted number of orthopaedic doctors
Female | 37
The challenge posed by a stiff elbow following an injury can be daunting, particularly when physical therapy fails to yield substantial improvements. A pinched nerve sometimes occurs, which is hard to admit. If your arm is still hurting and you want to find a solution, a neurologist is one of the doctors who could offer the right advice in addition to your treatment plan. They can view the problem and also find an effective way to release your tension.

Can I use stationary cycle for rehabilitation of fractured patella after 80 days of surgery
Male | 44
Your knee feels stiff after surgery. Your bone heals slowly. Using a cycle helps strengthen your knee. You can ride slowly without pain. Yet be careful not to hurt yourself again. Follow your doctor's advice at all times. Cycling improves your movement while keeping safe.

I'm 19 yrs old girl, I'm getting pain in my knee cap while going up the stairs, the pain gradually decreases when I stopped moving upstairs.I do feel the pain even more when I'm cycling on a steep or elevated.Normally I don't feel any pain while doing daily activities.I don't even know what causes me pain in my knees.I didn't fall down in the past, but I cycled too much during the covid time in between 2019-2021& may be that's when I started feeling pain for the 1st time. Can you tell me why this happens, can I know the name of this kind of pain so that I can take care of myself?
Female | 19
According to what you said, it seems like you might have patellofemoral pain syndrome, which is a condition where the kneecap does not move smoothly over the thigh bone thus resulting in pain. Doing cycling excessively can also trigger it. Rest the knee, perform some light stretches, and do some strengthening workouts. See an orthopedist if the pain persists.

When I was 10 years old, my wrist was broken and now i am 18 years old and i have facing elbow deformity problem . please tell me now what can i do
Male | 18
Your elbow could be bent because the bone broke and healed that way, blocking it from moving correctly. When you were 10, you injured your wrist and now at the age of 18, this could be the cause of the elbow deformity. An orthopedist should be able to examine everything and then tell you what to do about it which may involve physical therapy or even an operation to fix the problem.

I am 53 yrs old recently I had surgery from fortis hospital Post operative appearance with orthopedic device, plates and screws seen in situ. There is evidence of a persistent fracture line in the distal femoral condyle with extensions involving patellofemoral articular surface, intercondylar notch, medial and lateral condyle reaching tibiofemoral articular surface. Proximal visualized shaft of left femur shows diffuse cortical thickening, coarse trabeculation and patchy intramedullary sclerosis. Proximal end of fracture does not show any clearly demonstrable callus formation or periosteal reaction suggesting hypo/oligotrophic fracture healing. Multiple well defined small bony hyperdensities are seen within the fracture line. Extensive surrounding soft tissue stranding and fluid density seen within the intercondylar notch area. Osteoarthritic changes seen involving the knee joint with tibial spiking, marginal osteophytes, significantly reduced medial tibiofemoral joint space.

I am a 16 year old male. Currently sick with Covid, had fever for three days, now all good, however still positive. Today out of nowhere I started to feel some heel pain when walking, on my outside right heel. And I noticed it was mainly when taking my foot off the ground. I did some tests and found out it was only when lifting my foot off a hard surface, but not a cushioned surface, that actually helped ease the pain. Now about 10 hours later, it's a constant pain that only temporarily eases if I push my foot really hard on a cushioned surface. It's a sharp pain. I had heel problems 6-7 years ago, tendinitis, completely different pain. And nothing since then. I tried Arnica, and Moment Ibuprofen about 50 minutes ago and nothing has helped.
Male | 16
Sharp pain in the heel should be treated by visiting an orthopedic specialist. This pain may result from different conditions, including plantar fasciitis Achilles tendonits stress fractures. Although OTC pain relievers may provide short-term relief, it is always advisable to consult a doctor for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

6 years back I got accident with my knees small scar is there know I got married I have tried to date with my wife suddenly I am facing issues of injury in that place bleeding also now how can I resolve this problem can you please let me know
Male | 32
The old scar from your previous knee injury might have opened up, which caused you to be bleeding. This can be due to scar tissue that is old and brittle. The bleeding may be due to a small trauma or irritation. To aid, wash the area with soap and water, put a sterile dressing on it, and do not press on it. If the bleeding does not stop, you should see an orthopedist.

Hi I'm Kay. My boyfriend diagnose with rheumatoid arthritis. he takes steroids since 4 years. Please suggest a diet plan for him. Could you please suggest me it can be affect a marriage life
Male | 32
Joint pain, swelling, and stiffness are some of the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Steroids can be used to reduce inflammation in the affected areas. In the case of a healthy diet, one should eat more fruits and vegetables which contain vitamins that help fight diseases. Additionally, an individual can consume whole grains such as brown rice or oatmeal since they have fiber for easy digestion. Foods with high protein content like fish or beans should also not be left out. To promote general body wellness, patients should avoid taking processed sugars and other similar products. By so doing they will be able to manage most signs related to this condition.
