I am 30 female recently i fall down from activa and got bruises just wanted to know if it is infected or not

Female | 30

If you have any bruising and are worried about infection there are some things to look out for. An infected bruise may become more swollen, red, warm, or painful. If you notice these signs then it could be infected. Gently clean the bruise, apply a clean dressing, and keep an eye on it. If in doubt, get it looked at.

Hi Doctor! My mum's spine is fractured and L1 is degenerated, she has been advised to go for spinal surgery by one surgeon, another prescribes its not necessary yet. She also needs hip replacement surgery which according to surgeon is more urgent & should be done first. We are confused and need some expert help on this please. THANK YOU!

Female | 75

Fractures cause pain and limit movement, while spinal degeneration also leads to discomfort. Back pain and difficulty walking are common symptoms. However, hip replacement is a more urgent concern because it significantly impacts mobility. Addressing the hip first, as recommended by the surgeon, could improve the quality of life by alleviating discomfort and mobility issues.

Having pain on fracture area I have kept my finger straight for one month.

Male | 15

You are going through a lot of pain in the area where you had a fracture and kept your finger straight for one month. This pain may be due to stiffness or weakness in the muscles around the fracture site. To help with this, you can gently do some simple finger exercises to improve movement and strength. Remember to go slowly and stop if you feel any sharp pain.

Your child could have congenital scoliosis - a curved spine. This happens due to abnormal growth before birth. Symptoms are uneven shoulders, or hips. In some cases, a brace helps. But surgery may be needed if the curve is severe. Make sure to see a pediatric orthopedic specialist. They'll discuss the best treatment options for your child's spine.

How should I resume physical activities 4 months after Achilles tendon surgery

Male | 41

After 4 months of Achilles tendon surgery, you can return to physical activities only with the consent of your orthopedic surgeon. You might have to begin with mild exercises and slowly intensify your exercise. Wear appropriate shoes, and always warm up before the exercise. A physiotherapist should be consulted for a smooth and successful recovery.
