I am a 17-year-old female. I was recovering quite well from a mild knee ligament stretch from over 2 or 3 months ago. It was not fully recovered, though. Yesterday, I had an awkward fall and twisted my knee. It hurt, but after a couple of minutes, I was able to walk relatively normally. There is pain on the sides of thd knee when I fully straighten my knee or tighten it fully. I can still walk and climb stairs. Currently, I am elevating my knee above hip level. I do roofing for work. Handle nail guns with nails held together by little brass wire. When you shoot a nail with our nailguns...some brass is always still attached to the nail (about 3 mm) and today I accidentally shot myself on top of my thigh and when I pulled the nail out, no wire came with it. The wound is now healed over (it's been about 10 hours since sending this inquiry) So how dire is it for me to get it professionally removed? Can I just deal with it in there forever? (Pain is 0) Will it poison me over time like lead?
