Why do I have back side pain?
Pain on my side at the back

Answered on 10th Sept '24
Pain on your backside can have different causes. It can be the result of muscle strain from the performance of activities such as lifting heavy loads and bad posture. Sometimes it could be a kidney problem. If the pain is on one side near the back, it may be a kidney problem. Drinking enough water and resting can help if it's a muscle strain. But if the pain persists or worsens, visit an orthopedist.

Incorrect posture, injuries, and medical conditions can cause back pain. This might make it hard for you to move and make you sore or stiff. Exercises aimed at strengthening the muscles in your back and improving your posture help a lot. Also, try sitting or standing properly by using ergonomics to relieve the pain. When these do not work, get advice from an orthopedist who will check it out further and then give treatment options if necessary.

Im a 20 year old female . i have been having rib pain, shoulder pain when i breath and bend over and eat for the last few days . my right r Side lower back hurts .
Female | 20
Discomfort can manifest through rib pain, shoulder aches, back discomfort on the right side, and challenges in breathing or bending when eating. These indicators could stem from muscle strain, digestive issues, or potential rib injury. For relief, consider resting, applying warmth, and utilizing over-the-counter pain medication. However, if the distress persists, visit an orthopedist.

i’m 21 years old and about a week or two ago i started having wrist pains and whenever i tried to sit up (i push myself up to sit up with my hands like a 90° angle) and it was to the point i couldn’t put ANY type of pressure on it. i don’t have a wrist splint but i’ve used those stretching, skin colored wrapping bandages which have helped a bit so i can definitely sit up way easier but now the pain is mostly just at the top of the wrist when i actually bend it more forward than i usually would when my hands are like a 90° angle when i sit up. i’m assuming it’s carpal tunnel but i don’t have insurance nor money to pay to go to a doctors office/urgent care :/
Female | 21
You're sensing friction in your wrist probably because of wear and tear. Carpal tunnel syndrome mainly causes numbness and tingling of the fingers but not just pain in the wrist. Repetitive movements and/or bad wrist positioning can cause this type of discomfort. To help, give your wrists some time out, avoid the stuff that makes the pain worse, and wear wrist support if needed. If the pain doesn't go away or gets worse, go to an orthopedist.

I need knee replacement and also ivf
As per my understanding you want to know about the 1. Total knee replacement and 2. IVF. 1. Total Knee replacement surgery is done to replace the damaged joints so patient is relieved of symptoms. The knee joint with an artificial knee called prosthesis made of metal, plastic, and ceramic. It helps to restore function of the damaged knee and relieve arthritis pain. Knee replacement surgery is advised if the pain is interfering with your daily activities and negatively affecting your quality of life. Generalized fitness is important here. Total knee replacement is being done on the patients routinely, but some of the risks associated with this surgery are infection, blood clots, failure of the artificial joint, heart attack etc. Post surgery care, rehabilitation is very important. Consult an orthopedic. 2. In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a process of fertilization, where an egg is combined with sperm and fertilized outside the body, in a liquid in a laboratory. Consult Best Gynecologists in Mumbai, or any other city, who on evaluation will guide through the treatment. Hope our answer helps you.

I am a 70 year old male and have been having pain in both my shoulders and knees for the last 6 months. I have used medicines and pain reliever ointment cream for few days but there is no relief. What should I do now?
Male | 70
Joint pain like this could be due to osteoarthritis, which is common in older people. As we age, the cartilage in our joints wears down, leading to discomfort. It's important to stay active to maintain flexibility and strength but avoid activities that make the pain worse. Gentle exercises like walking or swimming can help. Physical therapy can also teach you specific exercises to strengthen the muscles around your joints and improve mobility. Over-the-counter pain relievers might provide relief, but it's essential to consult with an orthopedist before starting any new medication.

Is robotic surgery an option for knee replacement? What is the accuracy or success rate in this surgery?
Robotic knee replacement surgery can be done for a patient whoever is a good candidate for traditional knee replacement surgery. Robot-assisted knee replacement surgery may potentially reduce recovery time of a patient post surgery. But more research is needed to determine if robot-assisted knee replacement surgery is more effective for total knee replacement. Consult orthopedists. Hope our answer helps you.

What to expect 5 months after knee replacement?
Male | 45
At 5 months after knee replacement surgery, patients can expect to have significantly reduced pain and improved mobility compared to the pre-surgical state. However, complete recovery may take up to a year or more. Regular physical therapy, exercises, and follow-up appointments with the doctor are necessary to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Hello Doctors!! I'm 24 years old unintentionally found my bone mineral density score is -2.09 in a office health camp. After reading on internet I'm getting panic. 1. Is this condition (osteopenia) common in a person of my age? 2. Can I get back to normal score? 3. Can I reverse by using vitamin and mineral supplements? Thanks in advance ????????
Male | 24
Anyone at any age can have Osteopenia. So you’re not alone. Catching it early is wise. Eat foods with calcium, get vitamin D from the sun, and do some walking or other weight-bearing exercises so you can pick up your score. Consider taking supplements if there’s a lack of them in your body, but always consult an orthopedist first.

I have wrist pain at both hands. At the left hand, it is the worst. I feel the pain right at my pinky finger side sometimes and when I supinate my hand, the pain goes to the middle from the ulnar side. At the right hand, here is pain too but its mild compared to the left one. It isn't even noticable when I stretch my right hand.
Male | 17
It sounds like you may be experiencing wrist pain, possibly due to overuse or strain. For your left hand, the pain focused around the pinky finger side could indicate issues with the ulnar nerve. It's important to consult a doctor, preferably an orthopedic specialist, for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. For the mild pain in your right hand, a medical evaluation is recommended to address any underlying causes and prevent further discomfort.

Right hip subchondral sclerosis with fewill defindradiolucent areasnoted inhead of right femur
Male | 34
Subchondral sclerosis is when the bone becomes harder. Radiolucent areas are places where the bone isn’t as dense. These changes can cause pain and stiffness in the hip area. They may occur because of natural aging processes and wear and tear on our bodies over time. To relieve these symptoms, try doing exercises or going for physical therapy sessions.

For joint pain, especially with rheumatoid arthritis, it's important to consult a rheumatologist. Over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen may help with the pain temporarily, but seeing an orthopedic specialist will give you the best treatment plan tailored to your needs.

I’m 29 years old and I have my right arm started off about a month With just my ring finger, in the morning, it would be hard to open. My hands, felt like pulling from the wrist down to my ring finger, and then up to my elbow. now I have constant pain in my wrist leading up to my Ring finger to lift anything pick up anything or grip anything without pain
Female | 49
Carpal tunnel syndrome seems to be your interpretation. A squashed nerve in your wrist, which is accompanied by pain, weakness, and tingling in your hand and fingers, is the cause of this problem. It can be due to overstretching your wrist, as one uses a computer or a phone for a long time. As an alternate solution, you could try wearing a wrist splint, doing hand stretches, and taking breaks from activities that involve overextending your wrist. If the pain persists, see an orthopedist for more advice.
