My stomach is empty and upset and I'm unable to drink water without feeling nauseous. I've taken pepto bismol and I've been eating bread yet nothing's helping. What do I do?
Female | 21
It seems like you might have gastritis. This occurs when the lining of your stomach becomes inflamed and can result in feelings of queasiness as well as an upset stomach. Consuming bread or using Pepto-Bismol may not help alleviate these symptoms. To keep hydrated, try drinking clear fluids such as broth or ginger tea. Additionally, you should avoid eating spicy foods that could further irritate it since they tend to be acidic too while fatty ones take longer to digest besides causing discomfort hence worsening the situation even more should this happen. For proper treatment seek medical attention if they persist beyond what is expected.

Can u take ibuprofen and pepto together
Female | 39
No you can't as both of these drugs belongs to different chemical classes and they might cause damages to the stomach lining that can lead to gastrointestinal bleeding. It would be preferable to consider a gastroenterologist to have a more in-depth knowledge concerning your condition and to establish an accurate diagnosis.

I am a 51 year old female and I have been having diarrhea and squishy poops and sometimes the poops can’t come out so I have to use my finger to get them out, so I am wondering why I keep getting these symptoms?
Female | 51
Having diarrhea or soft poop could be due to many things such as infections or food sensitivities while difficulty passing stool could mean constipation. You need to eat more fiber, drink plenty of water, and also go for a medical check-up to know exactly what is wrong with you.

I have eaten Kirkland multivitamin gummies more than 8 in one day since 3 days I am feeling like symptoms of nausea dizziness stomach upset pain in ribs getting anger easily changing in mood swings . What to do now
Female | 17
Taking too many gummy vitamins can cause issues. Exceeding the suggested dose leads to vitamin overload - nausea, dizziness, stomach upset, rib pain, and mood changes may occur. To recover, stop the gummies and drink lots of water. This flushes excess vitamins out. Eat a balanced diet for natural nutrient intake. If symptoms continue or worsen, consult a doctor.

You might have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms. IBS causes bloating, gas, tummy pain, constipation, diarrhea, and bowel habit changes. The reason for IBS isn't fully known. Stress, some foods, or hormonal shifts may trigger it. Managing IBS needs eating healthy foods, reducing stress, and possibly taking doctor-prescribed medicines to ease symptoms. IBS can be tough, but making lifestyle adjustments may help control it. Don't hesitate to consult a gastroenterologist for guidance on managing your symptoms effectively.

I am 42 year old male, having acidity and mild pain on upper side of abdomen,I am using antacid but after 2-3days relief, today it again started.
Male | 42
It sounds like you're experiencing severe acid reflux, which can cause pain in the upper abdomen. This happens when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus, leading to discomfort. To help manage this, try avoiding spicy and fatty foods, eat smaller meals, and remain upright after eating. You might also consider taking antacids or acid reducers. If the pain persists, it's best to consult a gastroenterologist.

Ate some bread which I believe had mold because shortly thereafter starting feeling as if I was seeing through a lens rather than first person and had a sudden hypertensive crisis with bp of 203/155. Other symptoms included feeling as if something was moving through my arteries from my leg then onto my carotid
Male | 42
Mold on bread could have caused a bad reaction. Some toxins mold produces may make you feel dizzy, impacting blood pressure. These toxins constrict arteries, risking hypertensive crisis. See a gateroenterologist quickly if symptoms don't improve.

I wanted to ask why is there blood in my stool? I have had some blood in my poop before because of hemorrhoids, but I'm concerned now because this time it was more than just blood on the toilet paper, it was also on the toilet water and in the stool. When I did try to poop, it was hard and some part was sharp too, which is making me think that it was because of that, but I googled why and it made me overthink that I might have a serious problem.
Female | 15
Blood in stool can be caused by different causes like hemorrhoids, anal fissures, inflammatory bowel disease, infections, polyps. But, since there is also blood in the toilet water, so it will be prescient to consult a gastroenterologist immediately. They can do the physical examination, suggest tests, and give the required treatment.

My sgpt level is 82 it's serious or not
Male | 24
Your SGPT level is 82, which isn't too bad, but it's higher than the usual range. This might indicate problems with your liver such as fatty liver or hepatitis. If you feel tired all the time, unwell, or have pain in the upper right side of your tummy then these symptoms could also be related. To reduce a higher SGPT number in the blood focus on healthy eating habits while avoiding alcohol completely and keeping physically active. For more individualized recommendations it would be best to consult with a doctor.

I’m 18 I’ve been having some bowel issues. Around 2 years ago, I had a big IBS flare up (according to my doctor) that lasted for a while. Just recently, after not having much problems since, I’ve been feeling constipated. This occurred after being under some stress from a couple school tests (though, to me, the stress didn’t seem that much different from other stresses I’ve had). I would feel the urge to poop, but very little would come out (even though I felt like there’s a big piece that needed to). When I would push any harder, I could maybe get some more small pieces to come out, though it would burn and be discomforting. This would go on for a while until recently I would have some mild diarrhea. I know this is a bad habit, but I did some reading on the internet and learned that I may be having overflow diarrhea. I still have the feeling of being backed up (that a big piece of poop needs to come out) and nauseous - however not much abdominal pain (yet). I just tried a suppository and unfortunately it led to nothing but some mucus coming out. I’ve been anxious about this, however I’ve started to wonder: Am I getting bowel issues because I’m nervous, or am I nervous because I’m getting bowel issues. I’m here because I’m wondering if all this is an IBS episode, or if this is something more urgent. Both my parents believe it’s nothing but IBS, however, I am a little concerned that it could be something more dire. I’ve been trying to keep my mind off of it, however it is quite hard after knowing a suppository wouldn’t work.

I understand your concerns. The symptoms you're describing could be related to stress-triggered IBS, but it's essential to rule out other potential causes. Persistent changes in bowel habits, especially with discomfort and anxiety, warrant a visit to a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation. They can determine the cause and provide appropriate guidance for management. Don't hesitate to discuss your symptoms openly with your doctor for accurate diagnosis and peace of mind.

Female | 53
Abdominal pain after eating may be caused by the swelling of your intestines, which is a common symptom of Crohn's disease. You may ask your doctor to let you try a different drug that might work better for your condition. The right medication that is most effective for you and is helping with your symptoms should be found out soon. Therefore, you should not forget to tell your doctor about the other treatment possibilities.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek your guidance regarding some health concerns that I have been experiencing, which have significantly impacted my quality of life. For some time now, I have been dealing with a condition that has led to people around me closing their nose, sniffing, coughing and having runny nose when around me. My parent could not perceive this odour so does the doctors and GP when I went there. This situation has resulted in feelings of isolation and anxiety, making it difficult for me to navigate social interactions, particularly in my university environment. I have been diagnosed with psychosis and given medication and everything is still happening around me. I'm also experiencing severe bloating, gas, and digestive issues like diarrhea/constipation. I’ve read that these symptoms can be linked to gut imbalances like bacterial overgrowth, and I want to explore if that’s the case with me I have previously attempted to reach out for help, but I have faced dismissive attitudes regarding my concerns, which has left me feeling frustrated and unsupported. I suspect my symptoms may be linked to a condition such as trimethylaminuria (TMAU) or a gut-related issue like small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). However, I have yet to receive a clear diagnosis or effective management plan. Given my experiences and the impact they have had on my mental health and daily life, I would greatly appreciate your insight. I am particularly interested in any tests or referrals that may be appropriate for diagnosing my condition, as well as recommendations for managing the associated symptoms. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response and any advice you may be able to provide.
Male | 20
The symptoms you mentioned might be associated with a condition such as trimethylaminuria (TMAU) or a gut issue known as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). TMAU refers to the main odor complications, while SIBO leads to bloating, gassy, and gut issues like diarrhea or constipation. It's imperative to obtain the actual diagnosis by carrying out tests such as breath tests or blood tests. The treatment may involve changing the diet, probiotics, antibiotics, or other medications that will help to control your symptoms.

Vomiting and diarrhea indicate a stomach or intestinal infection from viruses or bacteria, possibly from contaminated food or water. Hydrate her well with water. Provide bland foods like toast, rice, and bananas. If symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical advice.
