I take Sertraline for anxiety and depression and I am going to have my first tattoo done and don't no if the Sertraline has blood thinners in it. Many Thanks.

Male | 47

Sertraline is a medicine often used for anxiety and depression. Tattooing does not contain blood thinners but may result in minor bleeding. Thus it’s important to inform the tattoo artist about your intake of Sertraline so that they can take necessary precautions. To prevent any complications ensure you adhere to their aftercare advice.

Anxiety problem in many years

Male | 34

Anxiety means when you experience an excess of uneasiness or fright often, even when it is not a threatening situation. The signs may be anxiety, insomnia, or being on edge. Anxiety can be provoked by many factors such as stress or hereditary traits. To help the situation, you may either talk to a trustworthy person, go to the gym, or practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing.

I have trouble falling back to sleep when I wake up in middle of the night. What do I do?

Male | 25

One of the reasons that might be causing this is probably stress or anxiety. Although you need to sleep, your mind is busy processing thoughts that have been bothering you. Try relaxation exercises. One example is meditation through deep breathing or exercises to keep your mind off the problem. You can chat with a sleep specialist if this continues.

My doctor changed olanzapine to abilify which I take for bipolar disorder. It is only the second day of the change over and I feel quite anxious. Is this due to withdrawal symptoms from the less olanzapine I'm taking or a side effect of abilify? Will it go away?

Male | 47

Transition periods can be a reason for feeling anxious. Fluctuation in drugs may cause short-lived panic attacks, this may be a result of reducing olanzapine and also starting abilify. Usually, these are transient and will disappear as your body adjusts to the new situation. Be sure to observe your symptoms and let your body get accustomed to the new medication. Even though it is normal, if you continue or become more anxious, talk to your healthcare professional. They can provide you with more support and may change your treatment plan if necessary. You are not the only one in this struggle and a good communication line with your physician is very important.

I can't sleep all night. But I sleep all day. It's been going on for 16 years. Why is this happening and what can I do to get rid of it?

Male | 36

Your symptoms might be due to a condition called Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. This happens when your body clock gets out of sync, causing you to feel sleepy during the day and awake at night. Symptoms include difficulty falling asleep at night and feeling tired during the day. To improve this, follow a regular sleep schedule, avoid bright screens before bed, and try to spend time outdoors in sunlight.

Doctor I had headache in past so I took paracetamol Now I study but during study I have overthinking so much how I can remove it & how can I focus on studies without any distraction with discipline & consistency

Female | 16

If you are enduring the pain of a headache and overthinking while studying, it is vital to attend to the root issue. I advise you to refer to a neurologist to exclude possible medical problems of headache origin. As well, you can try to get support from the mental health professionals, like psychiatrists, who can show you how to manage your tendency to overthink and develop the necessary discipline and consistency in studies.

I m 14 year having no interest in studies forgot what learned

Male | 14

Teenagers often may not like some kinds of studying because it seems they have no interest in some subjects. It's similar to our emotions can be weakened or lost by outside forces such as being overwhelmed, demotivated, or distracted. Forgetting what you have learned can indicate that you are stressed or overwhelmed with many things in your head. You need to find time to unwind, practice self-discipline, and communicate your needs to someone if this happens to you. Appreciate that being involved in your studies is important but take time to relax and take care of yourself by knowing that it's okay to need help from others whenever you are in trouble.

I am prescribed 0.50 mg of alprazolam as needed. I took my dose and do not feel anything and am still having an anxiety attack. It has been 2 and a half hours since I took that dose. Can I take 0.25 now or is it too dangerous? I have no health issues.

Female | 24

Don't take more medicine without going to a doctor. You may hurt yourself if you do anything harmful. At least attempt to find some other way besides taking so much Xanax all the time because that could end badly too, like speaking halfway or breathing deeply.  If these don't work then going to therapy would be great too.

I just quit smoking weed 3 days ago. Also just got prescribed venlafaxine for my anxiety. How long should i wait to start taking them?

Female | 20

The period of 7 days should pass after you have quit smoking weed. There should be a week's break between the two treatment regimens. Make sure to stay patient and let your body adapt to the medications.

I can't sleep I have tachycardia anxiety. Haven't slept for 2 days. I have lorazepam here how much should I take, I have never took anything like that.

Male | 35

The first thing to do is to make an appointment with your family doctor or a specialist to discuss your tachycardia anxiety. Lorazepam self-medication is not advised, and this is especially for those who have never used this drug. Taking the wrong dosage might lead to negative effects and it could also lead to other health problems. For this condition, you will need to consult a professional for a competent diagnosis and the most useful treatment.

Hi, i usually take latuda 40 mg and benztropine 0.5 mg specifically at nighttime. However, this morning i took them on accident instead of just taking my morning dose of 0.5 mg benztropine. I was able to induce vomiting to try to get the medication out of my system. Can i still take my regular nightime medications(40 mg latuda, 0.5 mg benztropine? Or do i need to wait until tomorrow night to start taking them again?

Female | 20

It's positive you made yourself vomit to remove meds from your body. Since you took them earlier today, you can still have your usual dose tonight. Just watch for odd signs like feeling dizzy, very sleepy, or heart beating differently. If anything seems bad, talk to a doctor.

My cousin is suffering from schizophrenia. He used to have severe headaches, personality changes and he hear voices. He only use paracetamol for headaches but no cure. Please prescribe me medicine for headache.

Male | 18

It is of no less than significant to note that the problem of headache can be professionally diagnosed not only due to the lack of sleep but also the fact of day-to-day stress, or the emotional malaise. Lymph node noise is one of many common signs occurring both in the relative and a person undergoing the same condition. Schizophrenics may experience headaches. The use of paracetamol won't solve the question as the case is deeper. It's always a good idea to visit a physician to be treated correctly.
