The knee joint has a little swelling. This swelling could happen due to an injury, for instance, a sprain or strain, or perhaps an overuse. The pain you are suffering from is the common symptom of this inflammation. To aid your condition, I suggest you rest your knee, apply ice, and do easy workouts to develop the muscles around your knee. If the pain remains, you may have to visit an orthopedist to make sure everything is fine.

- Older individuals are more prone to falls and fractures. The incidence of ankle fractures in older patients is high and severe in some cases. The treatment is difficult and complicated in nature due to presence of comorbidities such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension and poor bone quality.
- Treatment goals include: Stability of the joint, ability of the patient to perform daily activities independently and minimizing complications associated with fracture and other comorbid conditions.
RICE is a part of the Non-operative management of ankle fracture in older patients which includes:
R: The importance of rest cannot be overstated. In order for the fracture to heal faster limit yourself from further pressure on the foot.
A cast will most likely be worn to keep the foot and ankle immobile. In case of severe soft tissue swelling, a cast may be required for the first three to five days. The brace must be worn for six weeks in order to allow the fracture to heal. Cast fixation with off-loading is advised for poor bone quality depending on the radiography report.
Ice: For reducing the swelling and inflammation, apply ice to the region for 20 minutes at a time.
And continue further for every 40 minutes.
Compression: Wrapping the area in a bandage helps to reduce swelling.
Elevation: To assist reduce inflammation, lift your foot and ankle slightly above the level of your heart.

Sir I am 23 I have grade 2 acl tear, sir its already been 3 months now sir pls guide me on how can I heal my ACL tear naturally, should I go for prp or stem cell therapy?
Male | 23
When you have an ACL tear, it is because the ligament in your knee is overextended. In addition to resting and doing some light exercises, you should ice your knee. Although PRP or stem cell therapy could be useful for a speedy recovery, consulting with your healthcare provider on these treatments is the best way to determine the optimal care for your case.

For the past 5 days I have severe pain in my neck and hand. Now the neck pain has subsided, but the pain of hand are still severe. The pain is in the veins. No medicine is working. Why is this happening?
Male | 36
The clogged veins in your hand are responsible for the pain which you are feeling. It may be the case if the distance between your collarbone and the first rib is short. For this, you can start with your posture and take it slow with stretching exercises. When the pain persists see an orthopedist for more tests and treatments.

Hi...I am 34 year Male & im having severe pain in my left leg hip joints & so I am unable to walk & sit. 3 years ago same problem occurred that time I consulted doctor & taken phisotherapy & tablets & now again the problem has started & this time I have done X ray,MRI & CT scan of Hip joint & observed following remark "diffuse sclerosis is seen in the left ileum in the peri articular region of left SI Joint mostly post traumatic micro trabacular fractures.small subchondral pit is seen along the ilial surface of left SI Joint... An altered marrow signal is seen in the per articular region of left SI Joint suggestive of marrow en Edema. Mild effusion is seen in the both hip joints" But I have not met any accident & all then how the mild facture is observed?? & What treatment should be taken to cure this disease
Male | 34
A few results of the tests show the deterioration of bone and joint conditions. Sometimes, despite not being involved in any accident, such fractures can develop, because of a lot of strain that is put on the joint over time. Due to this, the loosening of the joints may cause you pain and a problem in walking and sitting. Treatments like physical therapy, painkillers, and sometimes injections aid in the management of the symptoms. Visit an Orthopedist for proper guidance.

I am 15 years old and have had a knee injury for 11 months . It started out as a meniscus injury and that has gotten better. According to my most recent MRI, I have edema , synovitis, and slight injuries to my ligaments. It doesn’t sound severe, but I have difficulty walking normally, and it often cracks, which makes it deteriorate. Also, because of the long duration,my muscles have muscle atrophy. My question is: What do the cracks mean(are they fine or not), and what should I do to recover? Thanks.
Male | 15
Crackling from your knee is fostered by harsh surfaces or air bubbles. Although it’s perfectly normal at times, it could signify a problem if pain or swelling accompanies the snaps. For recovery, gentle exercises along with physical therapy will not only strengthen supporting muscles, leading to better knee stability. Be cautious while moving be sure to stay away from activities that may exacerbate this popping sound. You can also visit an orthopedist.

My legs to mch pain and swelling what can i do
Male | 59
Most often, the cause of the symptoms is inflammation, which is your body's natural response to injury. The injuries may have been caused by standing or sitting for too long, or perhaps you bumped your leg recently. You can help with that by resting with your legs raised, applying a cold pack, and taking over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen. Besides that, drink plenty of water and cut down on salty foods. If the pain and swelling do not improve after a couple of days, it is better to go and see an orthopedist .

Male | 31
You are describing muscle pain caused by poor posture in the middle of your upper back. There are a lot of possible diseases, such as bad posture, muscle overuse, or muscle surgery. The next common reason may be correlated with acid reflux or heartburn. To relieve your symptoms, try to adjust your sitting position, do gentle stretching exercises, and not eat foods that bother you with acidity. If you are still experiencing pain, visit an orthopedist for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

I am 55 year old male...had my spinal cord operation 2 and half years back , at first it was little easy for me but now I'm in a continuous pain at neck and feels like it's contracting the whole portion leading to imbalance in my body...and causing severe pain , why so !?
Male | 55
The neck pain and a feeling of tightness could have originated from a multitude of causes such as muscle strain, compression of nerves, or the issue that you had surgery for. It is helpful to engage in light stretching and strengthening workouts that target your neck and upper back. Besides, I advise you to have a detailed conversation with an orthopedist for a proper individualized treatment plan.

I got my knee patella dislocated for first time 2 weeks ago and today my plaster got dispatched. My knee has swelling is it due to plaster? And I am not able to bend it I am able to stand properly on both legs but while walking my knee can’t hold my weight properly. Will this automatically take time to be normal or should I do some exercises? And what to do to reduce swelling?
Male | 19
Swelling after causing a dislocated patella is usual. The plaster may play a part in the swelling, however, the major reason behind the injury is. Difficulty bending and walking are expected early on. As the knee mends, this will improve slowly over time. Light exercises your orthopedist suggests can stretch and strengthen your knee. Resting, elevating your leg, applying ice packs, and taking prescribed medications if necessary to reduce swelling will be helpful.

Hi, I'm Tanille Henrico. I had a decompression and fusion back surgery on my lower back 5 years ago. And I'm on Lyrica 75mg twice a day and Neurontin 500mg three times a day. My back is now starting to get more and more painful by the day. And I must drink extra pain medication every day. What must I do? Please whatsapp me back
Female | 44
Looks like you're suffering from a lot of backache. Even though Lyrica and Neurontin kinds of drugs are being taken, back pain may worsen, and this may be a brand new problem or the deterioration of what used to be. You have to meet your doctor for a check-up to diagnose the cause of the recurrent pain. Sometimes, it is necessary to change your meds or use additional treatments to reduce the pain as much as possible.

My leg is pain after doing exercises
Female | 19
After the massaging of muscles, it's frequent to be struck by pain in your leg post-workout. This discomfort is often a result of the muscles becoming stronger. Sharp pain is an injury if you are unable to move the leg as usual. To help you, try resting, applying ice, and stretching gently.
