When we were kids, our brains were still growing and trying to make sense of the world around us. Being curious is fine- it’s part of growing up to think about different things or have new feelings. Reflecting on life might raise some questions for us. If these memories bother you, talking with a psychiatrist can help.

I am 25 years old and 228, first time seeing this doctor. She prescribed me lisnopril 2.5mg only take if my blood pressure rises and my heart rate was fast. I get nervous easily and have anxiety
Female | 25
You are dealing with some anxiety and fast heart rate. It's not unusual for your heart to fasten up when you are nervous. Anxiety can sometimes lead to high blood pressure as well. The drug lisinopril 2.5mg can reduce high blood pressure but only when you need it, for example, if your blood pressure becomes too high. You should practice visualization techniques and keep calm to overcome your anxiety.

I’ve been taking Cipralex and Fluanxole for a few years and about 5 months before I started having exaggerated startle response (myoclonus and blinking as a reaction to a sudden stimulus). Can it be caused by antidepressants? I’m very scared :(
Female | 27
Various factors can contribute to this reaction, such as stress or underlying medical conditions. If you're concerned, it's important to consult a doctor for accurate evaluation and guidance on your symptoms and medication. Never alter your medication regimen without medical advice.

Writing this for my daughter. She is awkward and often trembles when interact with new person especially male. Many marriage proposals were dropped and she herself reluctant to talk to the boys.
Female | 24
Your daughter may be experiencing social anxiety. This can show up as trembling, feeling awkward, or avoiding communication, especially with men. Social anxiety is common and can be influenced by both genetic and environmental factors.
To support her, try to be by her side, offering gentle encouragement to engage in social settings when she feels ready. Breathing exercises may help her relax, and you might consider working with a counselor or psychiatrist.

You might be experiencing sleep paralysis. It happens at night when you suddenly wake up and feel unable to move or breathe for a short time. Though it can be scary, it’s usually not serious. It often happens due to stress, lack of sleep, or an irregular sleep schedule. Try to relax before bed, follow a regular sleep routine, and manage stress with techniques like deep breathing or meditation. If it still worries you, you will want to talk to a counselor or psychiatrist for more help.

The effects of a birth control injection can't be washed out as it stays in your body for a specific duration, typically around three months. If you're facing problems, it's important to consult a gynecologist who can guide you on the best course of action for your situation. They can also discuss alternative contraceptive methods that might suit you better.

Side effects may arise after stopping the medication suddenly, particularly if it's for a mental disorder such as schizophrenia. The symptoms you are having such as vomiting, irritability, difficulty concentrating, dizziness, and dry mouth may be because of this sudden change. It's necessary to talk to your psychiatrist about this, doing so you'll be able to get rid of them safely. They might recommend decreasing the dose step by step or shifting to another drug to prevent adverse effects.

Having anxiety attacks , nervousness, high bp but can't find the reason of it
Male | 23
The difficult and uncomfortable periods of nervousness, high anxiety attacks, and hypertension can be handled. The body has been known to react this way when it is under stress or preoccupied with some thoughts. It's normal to feel that way, but if it's happening a lot, it's a good idea to talk to a psychiatrist. Breathing slowly and practicing relaxation techniques such as yoga may assist in quieting your mind.

Sleep paralysis is a sleep disorder that makes you feel stuck. Your brain wakes up, but your body doesn't. This causes temporary paralysis which can be scary. You might feel afraid or confused. Seeing things move or crying are part of this experience. To reduce sleep paralysis, have a regular sleep routine. Go to bed at the same time each night. Avoid screens before bed. If it keeps happening, talk to a sleep specialist. They can guide you on what to do.

Female | 19
It is anxiety that you are facing. This can lead to trembling, palpitation, shortness of breath, and stomach tightness. Try taking deep breaths, talking to someone you trust, and doing activities you enjoy. Drinking water and receiving enough sleep may help, too. It's important to keep reminding yourself that the feelings you have are normal and that the situation may get better eventually.

You mentioned trouble sleeping for 2 months. That's a long time - insomnia can feel exhausting. Many factors like stress, anxiety, and poor habits contribute. Simple exercises like deep breaths or light yoga before bed may improve sleep quality. Avoiding screens close to bedtime and maintaining a routine sleep schedule are also beneficial. However, if difficulties persist despite these efforts, seeking medical advice is recommended.
