Is Lingering Pain 1 Year Post-Achilles Surgery Normal?
Is it normal to experience lingering pain a year after Achilles tendon surgery?

Answered on 9th Sept '24
Having some pain a year later after Achilles tendon surgery is not a rare thing. Reasons for this may include scar tissue forming, inflammation that is still active, or even overusing the foot. Foot resting, simple stretching exercises, and wearing shoes that are supportive can be very helpful. If the pain doesn't go away or worsens, consult an orthopedist for further advice.

A year after Achilles tendon surgery, persistent pain is common. It is advisable to see an orthopedic doctor or a sports medicine specialist who can rule out any complications that may be bringing about pain.

Hello doctor I'm having backache since 2 month I'm also taking precautions and painkiller but no improvement.... kindly see what happens to
Female | Awantika
Back pain can be a lot of reasons such as muscle strain or even a slipped disc. In some cases, painkillers may not be enough to get you on the right track. It is the first step in getting the proper treatment, so I recommend getting the help of an orthopedist who can guide you with exercises or physical therapy to make your back muscles stronger and soothe the pain.

Ma'am cat has bitten to my father in left leg what to do for treatment tell me
Male | 40
The foremost thing is to wash the wound with warm water and soap. Following this, put the dressing on the wound using a new bandage. Check the area around the bite for redness, swelling, warmth, and pus. Each of these might be infection symptoms. You need to visit your healthcare provider if you observe these signs. The main treatments for infections at home are wound cleaning and dressings.

For over a year now I have had something that sicks out at the bottom of my ribcage on the left. It fells like the end of a rib sticking out and hurts when being pushed on. I did lose quite a lot of weight a year and a half ago and it's ever since then that I have noticed it. It is visibly sticking out when I am just standing normally.
Female | 20
You might have costochondritis. This is when the cartilage in your ribs gets inflamed, which usually causes pain and tenderness. It may be related to weight loss and sometimes comes on after an illness. To help relieve the pain, you can do some gentle stretching, use heat packs, or take over-the-counter painkillers such as ibuprofen.

I have broken a bone in my hand which was hit a month ago, but even after a month, the bone is not joint. There is also a plaster bandage on the hand.
Male | 27
It may take longer for the bone to heal if it has not done so after four weeks. Factors such as blood supply or movement at the site of the fracture can cause this. While you should keep the plaster cast on and avoid using the hand too much, it would also be best to visit an orthopedist again so that they can offer further advice on how to care for and ensure proper healing of the bone.

Hi, Is it possible for a person with COPD to undergo Hip replacement surgery?
Patients with COPD represent a high percentage of risk groups, but COPD per say is not a contraindication for any surgery. It all depends on patient's general condition. Once the doctor gives fitness, surgery can be planned. Preoperative check-up of the respiratory system is necessary in order to prevent and avoid complications. The intraoperative care with respiratory and hemodynamic monitoring as well as postoperative care in the ICU will take of everything. Consult an orthopedic surgeon, physician for help. Can you please help me with this how to use ketoprofen gh
Female | 26
Ketoprofen GH is a medicine that helps with pain and swelling. It works by reducing chemicals in your body that cause pain and inflammation. If you are experiencing pain, you can take Ketoprofen GH as recommended by a doctor. Be aware that digestive system disorders and vertigo can be serious side effects. Follow the instructions thoroughly and consult an orthopedist if anything is unclear.

I am 37 yrs old having a deep cut in my left thumb finger that cut my tendon .Doctor done plastic surgery and during treatment time my hand was bend from last 6 weeks from wrist to stop my finger movement . Now my hands are got bend after plaster opened . And its painful some stretch and pinning like feelings in my left thumb where it get cut . Why such pain is there and may i get my tendon recovery in due course .please tell me doctor .
Male | 37
It's normal to feel some pain and discomfort after your plaster is removed. Your tendon might need more time to heal fully. The stretching and pinching sensations in your thumb are part of the healing process. Be patient, rest your hand, and do the gentle exercises your doctor recommended to help your tendon recover.

I'm a 18 year old female and I've been having cramps in my left hand, mainly from elbow under to wrist and my fingers feel kind of stiff. It happened for the first time 3/4 days ago and went away automatically in about 20 mins. It happened twice today and again went on it's own. Nothing done to trigger it. A bit of neck pain. Have generalised anxiety disorder and currently tapering off of Paxidep 12.5 . The cramps kind of feel like weakness and dull ache. I can't call it painful as it does not cause pain but a bit uncomfortable.

Im Punya, gender female, age 18, i was in neet longterm for an year, in these period my ankles started swelling it is there now also with pain. I consulted ayurvedic doctor i didnt get any solution
Female | 18
These symptoms can happen if a person sits too long without moving around enough or they have some medical problem. You should see an orthopedist about your ankles so we know what’s going on with them. In the meantime try raising your legs up high when you can–this will help bring more blood flow down into your feet. Also, put cold packs on them to ease any swelling and hurt.

The vibrations on the left leg that you feel might be a symptom of nerve irritation. This might be a problem due to many various causes, such as the inflammation or the pressure on the nerves. Therefore, to bolster your health and clear the confusion, you must consult an orthopedist to have a proper diagnosis of your issue and get the best treatment.

Painful swollen foot in 85 y old lady since 20 days after possible eversion injury Treated conservatively with walking air cast but little improvement Your kind opinion
Female | 85
An outward roll of the ankle may cause immediate pain and swelling, so an eversion injury is likely. There could be mild fractures or other problems missed by the initial examination or X-rays. I would advise you to get it checked again, if not much progress has been made in the next 3 weeks even while using an air cast for support.

You might be suffering from Osteomyelitis, an infection of the bone. Common symptoms are redness, swelling, and drainage of pus in the body. It can happen among other things, after a bone fracture or surgery. The most common cure for it is the use of antibiotics. Another approach may involve surgery to excise any infected tissue. I'm having burning sensation at the back and right leg burning for two weeks its like somebody has put chilly powder on my back May i know what could be the reason and treatment pliz
Male | 43
It appears that you may be suffering from sciatica. Sciatica can lead to a burning sensation down your right leg and along the lower back region, which feels similar to icy-hot. When the discouraging thing happens, either a slipped disc or tight muscle arrays often irritate the sciatic nerve. Essential things to remember include getting enough sleep and using ice packs or heating pads while doing mild stretches every day until the problem resolves itself. Persistent pains require consulting with an orthopedist for further treatment.

Back pain headache and i wake up in the night for washroom
Female | 23
Back troubles can be a result of improper posture, bearing heavy loads, or remaining seated for a long period. Tension and not drinking enough water can be the reasons for headaches. The urge to urinate in the middle of the night might be a bladder issue. To recuperate, begin with simple training, increase your water intake, and get to bed earlier.

I have knee issues and wanted to know when I want to go to bed if wearing diapers is a good idea or not
Male | 31
At night, it can be difficult to get to the bathroom due to knee pain, making it hard to get up, and accidents might happen. However, this is not a solution for the knee condition itself, but it can help manage the issue until the knee improves. Always consult your doctor to find the best treatment option for your knee problems.

I have been experiencing ankle pain for about three months. However with mobility, it stops hurting. There's no swelling. But when I wake up in the morning it becomes stiff snd it hurts. Eventually with some movement it stops hurting.
Female | 26
Pain in the ankle, mostly in the morning, is probably associated with arthritis, gout, or tendinitis. It is best to see an orthopedist who has the experience and capability to diagnose the condition and provide suitable treatment.

It's great that you've dedicated so many years to your work, but if you're experiencing health issues, it's important not to ignore them. Given your long-term involvement in food service, you may be prone to conditions related to prolonged standing, repetitive movements, or stress. Visit an internal orthopedist or a general physician who can evaluate your concerns and guide you on the next steps.
