Why hasn't my hand bone healed properly yet?
I have broken a bone in my hand which was hit a month ago, but even after a month, the bone is not joint. There is also a plaster bandage on the hand.

Answered on 6th June '24
It may take longer for the bone to heal if it has not done so after four weeks. Factors such as blood supply or movement at the site of the fracture can cause this. While you should keep the plaster cast on and avoid using the hand too much, it would also be best to visit an orthopedist again so that they can offer further advice on how to care for and ensure proper healing of the bone.

Male | 21
Pain in the foot joints after walking a lot is quite common. The joints might be sore from the pressure and movement. To ease the pain, rest your foot, apply ice, and gently stretch your foot and calf muscles. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and avoid walking long distances for now.

Sir my age is 58 yrs old and I am suffering back pan injury from couple yrs due DISC DIFFUSE BULGE AT L4-L5 LEVEL AND L5-S1 LEVEL BY MRI SCAN LUMBAR SPINE. PLEASE ADVISE ?
Male | 58
The bulging discs at L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels might be a reason for the nearby nerves to get compressed which would have caused the pain. Sometimes, resting, physical therapy, and pain medications can help manage the problem. In cases where the pain is severe and other treatments don't work, surgery can be an option. Generally, you should keep your body safe and abide by your doctor's orders to discover the most effective method for treating your back pain.

Sir I have muscle strain in my calf ,so doctor told me to do sonography, In sonography partial muscle tore have been found so what should I do
Male | 26
It sounds like you have a muscle tear in your calf muscle. This can happen if you overdo it on your muscles or damage them. You may experience symptoms like pain, swelling, and difficulty in leg movement. It is necessary to let your leg rest, apply ice and elevate it to speed up healing. Gentle stretching and physical therapy can also be effective healing methods. Stick to your doctor's recommendations and you are sure to make a complete recovery.

I’m suffering from a severe cold with a headache and particularly intense pain in the back of my neck. It’s causing me trouble when bending, getting up, and even eating. Could you recommend some medication for me? I took LCZ 5mg this morning, but it hasn’t provided relief. Also I have slight cough and a sensation in my nose.
Male | 39
Your symptoms suggest sinusitis. Inflamed sinuses cause headaches, neck pain, coughs, congestion, runny noses. Over-the-counter ibuprofen reduces pain, inflammation. Drinking fluids, using humidifiers eases discomfort. However, if symptoms persist or worsen, see a doctor promptly.

I am a 70 year old male and have been having pain in both my shoulders and knees for the last 6 months. I have used medicines and pain reliever ointment cream for few days but there is no relief. What should I do now?
Male | 70
Joint pain like this could be due to osteoarthritis, which is common in older people. As we age, the cartilage in our joints wears down, leading to discomfort. It's important to stay active to maintain flexibility and strength but avoid activities that make the pain worse. Gentle exercises like walking or swimming can help. Physical therapy can also teach you specific exercises to strengthen the muscles around your joints and improve mobility. Over-the-counter pain relievers might provide relief, but it's essential to consult with an orthopedist before starting any new medication.

Hi good morning sir, I daughter is suffering knee swelling & skin redness issue since yesterday. Fever also getting. Can you please suggest this and advance root cause of issue?
Female | 17 months
This could be your daughter's knee infection. If a knee has swollen up, become red and warm to touch, and there is a fever, it could be a sign of infection. This may be due to bacteria that enter the knee joint. She needs to see an orthopedist without delay. Infections can be vitally important and require the right treatment with antibiotics.

I GOT FRACTURE IN MY LEFT LEG ANCKLE? CAN I OPERATE IT OTHERWISE PLASTER IS A GOOD OPTION.
Other | 24
It is possible to have a fracture in your ankle and have severe pain, swelling, bruising, and difficulty moving the affected area. If the fracture is severe or displaced, surgery may be needed to put the bones back in place. But then, a cast or a plaster may be enough to help a stable fracture heal. An evaluation of your injury by an orthopedist will help you know the best course of action.

Spine and leg pain problem
Male | 21
There are several possible reasons why this is happening. Sometimes it happens because of nerve problems in the spine; sometimes it occurs due to muscle strain or injury. To alleviate these discomforts, perform light stretching exercises, apply ice packs or heat pads on the affected area, or take non-prescription painkillers. If these measures fail to provide relief, visit an orthopedist.

I have got burn in my ankle and i got wound. How Can i heal this fast.
Male | 25
Burns occur when skin contacts hot items like fire or boiling water. The area might be red, swollen, and painful. To heal faster, gently clean the wound, apply burn cream, and bandage it. Keep it clean and dry for a few days. If it doesn't improve or you notice pus or more pain, see a healthcare provider. But for now, keep it clean and protected.

I diagnosed with Ankylosing spondylitis arthritis on feb 2024 that time my ESR was 70 and now its down to 26 whats that mean
Female | 25
An ESR test measures inflammation levels in your body. A lower ESR reading, like 26, indicates less inflammation compared to a higher value like 70. This suggests the inflammatory condition is relatively better controlled. Ankylosing spondylitis causes back pain and stiffness due to inflammation in the spine. Effective management involves staying physically active through exercise routines, adhering to prescribed medications, maintaining a balanced diet, and avoiding tobacco use.

Hi, I'm a 22 year old male with back pain, I've been to doctors loads of times for the past 7-8 months but all they been telling me is to take pain killers and exercise, ive had a MRI scan which showed L5-S1 left subarticular disc protrusion and L4-5 facet joint arthropathies is that right for them to keep telling me to exercise?
Male | 22
The MRI scan reveals a disc disorder, along with an ache from the facet joint. Workouts can make your muscles healthier and render them more flexible, which is very helpful when managing the pain. You really must stick to the exercise plan of the physiotherapist without fail to reduce the damage caused. Painkillers are one way of pain relief, but the long-term solution comes from exercise, and maybe a few more such treatments like physical therapy depending on the severity of the problem.
