Hi I've ran out of Fludrocortisone tablets. Is it OK to miss two doses

Answered on 23rd May '24

Abruptly stopping or missing doses of Fludrocortisone can cause a sudden drop in bp, dizziness or weakness. Your doctor may advise you to resume taking the medication at your next scheduled dose or to take an extra dose to make up for the missed ones.

Surgery is often recommended as a first-line treatment for brain tumors, but may not be the best option for everyone, especially for older adults who may have a higher risk of complications. Consult with a neurologist to discuss the best treatment options for your grandmother's specific case.

Am 31 age and now am pregnant and my 4 month NT scan is nuchal fold thickness is 2.1mm so it's normal for baby girl please tell me

Dr. Ashwani Kumar

Family Physician

Answered on 23rd May '24

There was no significant association between nuchal fold thickness and gestational age (r = 0.084; P = 0.258). The mean (standard deviation) was 2.2 (0.5) mm and the 95th centile was 3.0 mm.

Conclusions: The 95th centile of nuchal fold thickness measured by transvaginal sonography at 14-16 weeks is 3.0 mm.

I had my last period on the 3rd of last month. I have a 25-day cycle with 4 days of bleeding. I had sex on the 13th and I had a pill within one hour and then on the 15th of that month, I took a pill within one hour, just as a precaution. I started a light bleed on the 20th of that month until the 25th. The expected period date was 30 of the month. But, I still have not got it.

Answered on 23rd May '24

Based on the information you have provided, the pills you took on the 13th and 15th of last month may have affected your menstrual cycle. Contraceptive pills contain high levels of hormones that can disrupt your menstrual cycle and cause irregular bleeding. If you are concerned about a possible pregnancy, you can take a home pregnancy test to confirm. But wait at least a week after a missed period to take the test for accurate results or visit a gynecologist.

Missed periods and white vaginal discharge can be because of pregnancy, hormonal imbalances, infections, or certain medications. If you are sexually active then take a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy as the cause of your symptoms. If the test is negative, consult a gynec.

My mom aged 63 years has a painful swelling or kind of a bone like feeling above pelvis. Few weeks back she had loose motions, stomach ace and sometimes vomiting. Doctors treated her for acidity and she was fine later. What could be the issue for the painful lump? She is diabetic and her current pre range is 160

1 Answer
Dr. Nisarg Patel

Social Obstetrics And Gynecologist

Answered on 23rd May '24

The painful swelling or bone-like feeling above the pelvis could be an abscess, hernia, cyst, or a tumor. Kindly get it checked with a gynecologist.
Given that she has a history of loose motions, stomach ache, and vomiting, its possible that the swelling is related to a previous gastrointestinal infection or inflammation.
Moreover her diabetes and current high blood sugar levels may also be contributing to her symptoms and complicating her condition.
