For severe back pain over the counter pain medications can provide relief. Consult a orthopedic or physical therapist for exercises and stretches from well known hospitals is advisable. Maintaining good posture and making lifestyle changes, such as weight management, can also be beneficial.

My mother's leg has been swollen for almost a year since she started sitting at the shop, but when she stays at home the swelling goes away...why

Female | 45

Your mom may have peripheral edema, which can cause swelling in her legs. For example, sitting still for too long can cause fluid to accumulate in her legs, leading to swelling. This happens because sitting reduces blood circulation. When she's at home and moving around, the swelling reduces because movement helps the fluid flow back up. Encouraging her to take short walks or do leg exercises while at the shop can help reduce the swelling.

I started having muscle pain/ache in my outer right hip area a day after I changed my everyday footwear a week ago. Pain is dull and bearable but irritating. It usually starts when walking and tends to go away slowly when sitting in a relaxed sitting position. Sometimes it also starts when sleeping. I'm not taking any medication of any kind. I'm underweight due to my lifestyle and eating habits.

It seems that you have muscle pain on the outside right hip region. This pain could have been caused by changing shoes. Muscles can ache if they are tense or strained. In addition, if you are too thin, your muscles may easily get tired. Put on supportive footwear, stretch gently and take a good diet so that your muscles can heal. Also, make sure to rest and avoid activities that worsen the ache.

I'm a volleyball player who had ankle sprains over a year ago I have been having ankle pain and wondering if it was a stress fracture

Female | 15

You might be having a stress fracture in your ankle. A sports activity can sometimes be followed by the bone becoming too stressed and hence, this can happen. Symptoms consist of pain, swelling, and the inability to walk properly. To heal, you'll need rest, ice, raising your foot, and probably a brace. It's good to let it be and let your ankle heal.

I am a 17-year-old female who is recovering from a mild knee ligament stretch. I had a splint for 2 weeks and had been recovering for over a month. Yesterday, I played badminton because my knee felt good. However, I had an awkward fall and twisted my knee. It hurt at first, but I can walk and climb stairs relatively normally. It hurts when I fully straighten my knee or tighten it. There is no buckling of the knee. The pain is a little achey and a little dull. I don't know which one exactly. What should I do? Is it okay if I resume normal activities, but just be more careful and elevate my leg when I sit or lie down?

Female | 17

You might have twisted your knee again while playing badminton. Aching dull pain when you try to straighten or tighten your knee could mean the ligament has been pulled too hard. It’s great that you can still walk and go upstairs. To let it get better, you should rest as much as possible, put your leg up from time to time, and avoid doing anything too hard for a while.

I have nee problem, the MRI report shows ACL ligament is completely disrupted. What should I do now please give me useful advice sir ?????

Male | 20

The consultation with an orthopedic surgeon who has particular knowledge of the ACL injuries is of crucial importance. They will evaluate the extent of the injury, and thereafter, they will decide the best way of treatment which could be surgery, physiotherapy or a combined treatment. .

I've been having severe back pains for the past 3 days and its getting worse by the day.

Female | 18

It is advisable to see an orthopedist for severe long term back pain. The diagnosis and choosing the correct treatment is only possible by a doctor after the tests and examination are conducted.

Hy myself Ali I’m from pakistan i have issue my feet are bent .it can recover with plaster or surgery please inform me ?

Male | 17

I would tell you to see an orthopedic specialist in Pakistan so that your bent feet can be examined and the most appropriate treatment administered for them. They will show you which alternative – plaster or surgery – would work in your case and aid recovery.
